Your Impact
$500 provides tattooing/beauty services for cancer survivors
$1,000 assists beauty students’ tuition
Selected students will receive a tuition payment scholarship, an internship to complete required hours, skill development, business knowledge, resources needed to succeed and a lifelong mentor in the field.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must identify as a member of a ethnic minority group. Applicants must be legal residents or citizens of the United States.
- Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a student in a beauty school.
- GPA Requirement (for high school students minimum 2.3)
Board of Directors

Dr. Leia’ Love: Founder
Affectionately known as the “Head~2~Toe Beauty Pro,” Dr. Leia’ Love has been the Chief Beauty Officer of Leia’ Love Hair & Nail Salon for over 12 years. She holds advanced degrees from The University of Toledo where she earned both a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Communication. She also holds a Doctorate of Professional Cosmetology (DPC) and has been championing holistic approaches to beauty for over 20 years.
Dr. Love’s extensive experience includes being a TV host on PBS Forum 360 and active community involvement, serving on various boards such as the Black Chamber of Commerce Summit County and Good Place Holdings. She is also an avid volunteer for organizations that empower women (Women’s Endowment Fund), support individuals experiencing cancer (Stewart’s Caring Place), and empowers small business development.
Passionate about educating the next generation of professionals she has launched the Spark Beauty Fund and is ready to spark change in her community and beyond.

Amanda Parker: Treasurer
Amanda began her legal career as a corporate legal fellow at the Goodyear Tire &Rubber Co. before she transitioned to private practice roles at Brouse McDowell LPA and Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP. At FirstEnergy, her practice currently focuses on negotiating agreements, developing legal strategies, and representing the company in complex regulatory proceedings and federal appeals. Additionally, Amanda provides legal support to the FirstEnergy Foundation.
Amanda is also a graduate of The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business and Moritz College of Law. In 2016 Amanda was recognized as a “30 for the Future” recipient by the Akron Chamber of Commerce, and recently in 2024 she was named an emerging Legend by the Black Professional Association Charitable Foundation.
Amanda was raised here in Akron along with her two sisters, and extended family which instilled in her a strong sense of community service. She stays engaged in her community as a volunteer for community legal aid, a devoted board member of Liberty Tabernacle Church, a mentor, and a member of the Kent Area Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Amanda also spends her time as a baseball, and basketball mom, cheering for her son Jackson.

Ashley Pippin: Secretary
Ashley’s diverse background prompted her passion for advocacy, community, theatre, and mental health. Ashley Pippin is the Artistic Director of Genesis Theatre and a Marriage and Family Therapist.
As a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in theater education, nonprofits, and ministry, Ashley strongly believes in transparency and authenticity in the workplace. Ashley regularly develops mental wellness and theater curricula to assist professionals with effective mental health techniques. Ashley is an advocate for the arts, human trafficking, and the mental health community. Ashley is available for private consultations, coaching, and psychotherapy.
